MES (Membership Engagement Services) helps organisations build engaged communities through efficient, joined-up communication, accessible systems and effective use of data.
We started life in 2006, specialising in helping NHS Foundation Trusts manage and work with their members. Eleven years on we are the leading provider of patient and public engagement tools for the health sector, yet we have a diverse client base including local authorities, housing associations and membership organisations.
We put data to work and devise tailored engagement plans and systems that help you connect with your members and stakeholders.
Central to our approach is outstanding service and to exceed our clients' expectations. These priorities have been fundamental to our growth and development since MES started. We want to be the best partner to our clients that we possibly can.
We are part of the ERS Group. Find out how we are making democracy happen at www.theERSgroup.com
A bit about our history
MES was established in 2006 in a very small office in Central London. Though a one-man band in that first year, there was a clear vision and strong ambition for MES to become a specialist consultancy in membership engagement; there to help organisations connect and relate more meaningfully with their constituent parts.
In 2007 MES’s workforce doubled, and by 2009 we had become a team of six working with a client base of 30. In 2010 the company moved to new offices at our parent company ERS’s site – this helped us achieve greater efficiencies and savings for our clients, and strengthen the relationship with the parent company. At this time I joined the ERS Board of Directors as well, ensuring greater cohesion and strategic coordination between the businesses.
Work to date has focused extensively in the health sector: we provide a variety of services and support to NHS bodies needing to engage with their members, patients, carers and staff. We go beyond this though, guiding and leading the discussion, and establishing ourselves as true experts in our field. You can read our thoughts and views on Twitter @MESsocial and also on our blog.
These days our work goes beyond the health sector too. In 2017 MES has an impressive client list of around 200, a dedicated team of 22 looking after them, a near 100% contract renewal record, and an extensive range of interacting services. This pays testament to our guiding philosophy, which is focused on looking after people, providing fantastic customer service, and having excellent knowledge and experience of our subject matter.
I am proud of what we have become today - a well-respected thriving business with an experienced and dedicated team of enthusiasts.
