We are committed to helping our clients engage effectively with members, customers, staff and other stakeholders. We have a breadth of experience and knowledge, as well as a lot of enthusiasm for what we do.

Meet the Team

Nick Goodman

Nick is our Managing Director. He joined our parent company Electoral Reform Services (ERS) in 1994 and spent the next decade immersed in elections. In 2006, after many months of pondering an idea and putting together a strategy and business case, Nick left his position as Head of Operations at ERS to launch Membership Engagement Services.

The past 17 years has seen Nick focus his energy and develop expertise in helping organisations connect effectively and meaningfully with their memberships, tackling apathy and disinterest and deepening their democracy in the process. He forms strong trusting partnerships with his clients, and considers himself a reliable and safe pair of hands to advise, guide and deliver.

Nick sits on ERS's Board of Directors as well, his responsibilities including the marketing for both companies. This dual role ensures the ERS Groups' service range continues to develop and broaden coherently, and in line with our clients' needs.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM

Rhodri Mortimer

Rhodri joined MES in 2007. Manager of the Project Delivery Team at MES, Rhodri has consistently helped our clients forge long lasting and meaningful connections with their members.

Rhodri has a first class degree in History and Politics from the University of Leicester. Proud of his Welsh heritage, Rhodri was Vice President of the university's Welsh Society.

Ben Weller

Ben joined the team as a Project Co-ordinator in October 2009. In particular he leads with our client training services, developing tailored programmes and delivering exciting and dynamic training and facilitation events.

Ben holds a degree in Politics from the University of Nottingham and speaks Mandarin Chinese. In his spare time he heads for the ocean to race yachts and scuba dive. Occasionally he enjoys running triathlons.

Keir Pearcey

Keir joined MES's Project Management team in April 2011, having graduated in 2010 with a Politics and International Relations degree from Royal Holloway University. Drawing upon his experience in quantitative and qualitative electoral analysis at degree level Keir hopes to get behind the reasons for apathy and disinterest and drive renewed participation.

Outside of work he is interested in music performance and composition, often found tinkering with a guitar or various pieces of music software. In his spare time he relaxes by taking part in sports such as hockey or squash, or by enjoying a good book.

Simon Kimber

Simon joined MES as a Project Co-ordinator in August 2011. He graduated from the University of Hull in 2007 with a degree in British Politics and Legislative Studies and then went to work in the House of Commons running the office of a Member of Parliament. At the same time he was studying for a Masters degree in International Security at the University of London which he achieved in 2009.

Outside of the office Simon is a keen photographer and can often be found exploring London with his camera. In his spare time he loves nothing more than checking out the latest films or reading a good book.

Mark Saunders

Mark joined MES in August 2011. In his role as Project Co-ordinator he helps clients to increase engagement and interaction by delivering our range of innovative services.

Mark graduated in 2009 from Reading University with a degree in Politics and Philosophy, where he was Vice President of the Men's Football Club. He enjoys travelling when he can and in his spare time plays a variety of sports, but concentrates most of his efforts on the football pitch.

Richard Wheatcroft

Richard joined the MES Project Management Team as a Project Coordinator at the start of 2012. He graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2008 with a degree in Event Management. Prior to working at MES, Richard worked as a Logistics Coordinator for "The Challenge" which involved working with young people.

When not in the office, Richard is either playing sport and exercising or going to see as much live music as possible, seeing films and going to random events in and around London. He also has a keen interest in keeping an eye on new ideas, trends and technology.

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES & OFFICE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Elouise Smith

Elouise joined MES as Membership Services Manager at the start of 2009. Along with maintaining efficiency and quality across the business, Elouise looks after the day to day running of our associated membership services.

Elouise is currently studying Psychology through the Open University. She is a keen traveller and hopes to do more of this in the future, when not studying she can be found cooking and reading rock star autobiographies.

Joanna Hawkins

Joanna Hawkins provides administrative support to our Membership Team and Project Managers. Before MES Joanna worked for a housing management organisation in North London.

Joanna graduated from the University of Reading in 2008 with a degree in English Literature and History of Art. She is still a bit of a bookworm, and especially enjoys a good detective novel or one of the classics. She also loves living in London and tries to explore as much of it as possible.

Sahar Mirhadi

Sahar joined MES as a Campaign Co-ordinator in January 2012. She is responsible for the planning and execution of public recruitment campaigns. Sahar graduated in 2009 with a Politics and International Relations degree from Royal Holloway, University of London where she was Equality and Diversity Officer of the student union.

Outside of work, she is active on the open-mic comedy scene and can be seen making people laugh across London as well running her own comedy club in Kings Cross. In her spare time, she enjoys a good book, travelling and spending time with friends and family.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Paul Mitchell

Paul joined the company at the start of 2009 and is responsible for the company’s sales and marketing activities as Business Development Manager.

Paul holds a degree in Politics and Philosophy, graduating in 2005. A keen musician he is also enthusiastic about sustainable development, having spent one year living and working on an organic farm in West Wales.

Jack Moody

Jack joined MES in October 2011 as a Business Development Officer, to aid in the sales and marketing aspect of the company. He holds a BA Hons in Philosophy from the University of London, and aims to draw on his previous sales and marketing experience, to contribute to the continued growth of the company.

In his spare time Jack enjoys reading historical books or biographies about fascinating people. At some point in the future he aims to live and work in Japan, in an attempt to both experience a completely different culture, and further his martial arts knowledge.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT & DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Hannah Staunton

Hannah is our Lead Developer – designing and implementing our database solutions for clients and providing operational support for all our online systems. She joined the ERS Group in 2006, and from 2008 was solely focused on MES Development.

Hannah has an MSc in Object Oriented Software Systems from City University and a BA Hons in Philosophy from the University of Nottingham. When she's not programming, she writes novels and one of these days, may even try to get some published.

Vipul Buddhdev

Vipul joined us in June 2009 and works with Hannah to provide operational support for our systems. He holds a degree in Computer Science as well as numerous professional qualifications. Vipul is a certified Prince2 practitioner and a certified trainer (CTP).

Vipul enjoys travelling and adventure. He recently climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to help raise money for his daughters' school. Vipul also volunteers at his local temple; helping in the community shop or the kitchens.
