MES has been busy over the past few months:
We have run three training events for candidates either in elections or about to commence their term of office. Hackney Youth Parliament, Websense and Sony Ericsson all gave strong positive feedback about our work for them.
East London NHS Foundation Trust and Peterborough & Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are the latest Foundation Trusts to have appointed us to provide our tailored Data Support Service. At the end of October '08 (12 months after our first system went live) we assist 18 Trusts, with a combined membership of well over 100,000.
We have been busy developing v.2 of our Data Support Service which goes live in a month's time. Watch this space for more information about its added features ...
We have now completed two voter profiling projects for clients - where by working in tandem with our parent company ERS we are able to analyse the voters and non-voters in an election to better inform future elections. By looking at the demographics of an electorate, we can look at where improvements can be made to tackle voter apathy; language requirements, design of materials, additional communications, outreach programmes and so on. We sponsored the first ever Foundation Trust Network (part of NHS Confederation) Conference in Leeds in September. Amongst other things we ran two workshops on membership managements - click here to read our summary of findings
The National Trust project was concluded with its AGM in Liverpool. We assisted with its first ever use of online voting and there was a 30% take up - an impressive start. We look forward to continuing our support for the Trust throughout 2009.
Together with our sister organisation, ERS Research, we are helping Royal Liver Assurance to identify new methods of engagement with its large membership. Research is currently underway with findings due early 2009 in time for their AGM.
Three existing or aspirant Foundation Trusts have just appointed us to help them recruit new members using a variety of methods. Our team will be on the streets in the West Midlands and East London throughout November and early December. North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus appointed us for a 6-12 month project to help them set up a new type of membership body from scratch. The remit is a broad and exciting one for the company as it involves a number of different skills and experience - including research, consultancy and advisory services, database provision, candidate training, electoral management (ERS) and much more. One of our Project Managers, Rhodri Mortimer, has spent much of his time in Grimsby during the past 2 months co-ordinating things on the ground.
