Spring 2009

The past few months have been very busy. We have three new members of staff - Elouise, Paul and Simon - so they are getting up to speed and already making a big (and positive!) impact in the company. It's good to have them on board.

New ‘FT clients' are appointing us to support their membership needs all the time. In December Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, the fourth largest in the country, appointed us to provide an array of services: their membership database, member recruitment strategy and implementation, a membership helpline, support with its public consultation and more. This is a large-scale and exciting project for us and we're enjoying seeing it all come together. There is still a long way to go before the Trust's application to Monitor....

So far in 2009 we have also been appointed by Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals NHS Trust and Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust - thank you to all for appointing MES; we trust you are all getting a quick and positive view of the way we operate.

We continue our work for North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus and this is really starting to take shape. We are currently working on the more detailed aspects of the proposed governance model as well as developing a brand and the look and feel of this new type of membership body. Stoke PCT appointed us in January for a similar project which will last much of 2009 and beyond.

Recent membership recruitment projects have taken place in East London, Central London, Worcester and Warwickshire - even in the snow! All our recruitment targets have been exceeded.

We are proud to confirm that we will be the main sponsor once again for the NHS Confederation's FT Network's annual conference in September; this year in Birmingham. We will also be at the main NHS Confederation in Liverpool in June so please look out for us.

Other newer projects we have been or are involved with include the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (membership engagement and together with our sister company ERS Research, voter research), the Co-operative Group (election material re-branding), EJ Gallo and WorleyParsons (candidate training), Blaby Council (youth parliament voter awareness campaign and candidate training) and more.

In March we will start work on the 2009 National Trust AGM - we are now into year 3 of a membership engagement programme we are delivering for them.

In April we will host our first User Group meeting for all our Data Support Service clients so we are currently planning for that. We will also be launching our client only area , plus look out for the first of our ‘webinars'!

As ever, please call us on 020 8829 2330 or email enquiries@membra.co.uk if you wish to discuss any of our services and how we can assist your organisation.
